Saturday. It’s Saturday.
I forgot for a bit there.
9:30 Virtual yoga. Very aware of the woman not on mute talking her dog through the practice.
I miss yoga class in a (dog free) studio.
11:30 Grocery shopping. I wore my new mask. Shoved my wallet and keys in my waistband (leggings of course – do we still have pants with zippers?!)
The grocery store was weird and confusing. There are taped arrows on the floor with the suggested (mandated?) flow of traffic. Since I was in a store I haven’t been in in months I don’t know where anything is and had to keep backtracking – against the prescribed traffic flow like a criminal.
Maybe about half of the people had a mask. Several were wearing them below the nose which seems kind of pointless. Uncomfortable AND completely ineffective.
I was able to get most of what I went for. No tomato soup. No marshmallows. Everything else was there.
I didn’t try to get any paper products, we are probably good for at least another week.
I stopped at Target on my way home to get more hair elastics since I used them for the sides of my masks.
While I was there I looked for nail revitalizing products – apparently we are now in “self care hoarding mode” because all nail treatments are gone. Everyone else has pried off their high maintenance nails and is dealing with the aftermath, just like me. Another shared experience – yay.
2:00 Came home and realized I already have a vast collection of nail treatment products.
4:30 I finished all of my masks to donate and distribute.
[Note ravaged status of nails.]
7:00 We ordered pizza despite my grocery shopping efforts. Isn’t that how it always goes?
Delivery was billed as “contact free” and when the pizza arrived there was the most violent banging and knocking on the door that I think I have ever heard. 😳
When I went to the door the pizza was sitting on top of the thermal delivery bag/reverse cooler thing. I stepped out to get it and the delivery guy was standing out on the sidewalk – waiting to retrieve his bag. So he beat the crap out of my door and RAN away.
I guess that’s one way to do it.
8:15 I have many brown bananas so I am going to join the crowd with some therapeutic baking tonight. Banana chocolate chip muffins are on deck. Because I need another carb in my life.
I mean – I really do. Carbs are the foods of happiness. Right?
Damn straight they are.
Hope you had a safe and productive (or relaxing, if that’s what you needed) day.
Hang in there!
