I’d like to start with the caveat that I found this list, thought “yes, that’s something I could work with,” and started this little series without actually READING ALL OF THE QUESTIONS. So if we get into some weird territory I apologize in advance. I am JUST as surprised as you are.

Here we are back with questions 11-20. Having fun? That’s what I thought.

11) Have you been to Las Vegas?

Yes, twice. For both my 5th and 10th wedding anniversary back when I had such things.

I really like Las Vegas, despite the fact that I am the world’s most gambling-avoidant person. I can handle (maybe) nickel slots (for like, one roll of nickels) before I start having heart palpitations about PLAYING GAMES with money. Argh.

I love the bigness of Vegas. It’s all just unapologetically tacky and huge and over the top.  As someone who tends to attempt to minimize my footprint on the word this is strangely attractive to me.

On our first trip there we renewed our vows with a fat Elvis impersonator as the officiant. I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I promised to be someone’s “Hunka Hunka Burning Love.” I’m pretty sure I’m off the hook for that now, what with the legal proceedings and all that have taken place since then. Although what if that undid the “legal” stuff and the Elvis vows still stand?? Ermagerd.

12) Your favorite pair of shoes?

I have a vast collection of Tom’s shoes. I love the idea that by buying shoes I am in some way helping their cause. Plus they are cute. Win win.

I have one pair covered in sequins and another covered in glitter. I must admit that I am especially fond of those.

13) Honestly, have you ever cheated on your significant other?

Nope.

14) What is your favorite fruit?

I like a nice crisp apple. Cherries are enjoyable, but hard to get good ones. I’m pretty open to fruits in general – except grapefruit, which should not be considered to be an actual viable fruit. Ew.

15) Have you talked to anyone on tumblr that you could see yourself dating/having sex with? If possible?

a) No.

b) You can talk to people on Tumblr?

16) Are you into hookups? Short or long term relationships?

Erm…ew, no. Long. Very long.

17) Do you smoke? If so, what?

I attempted to smoke exactly once. I was 10 (!) and went to visit a friend who had moved out of our neighborhood and apparently in the interim had taken up smoking. At 10 (!). We went out into her yard somewhere and she offered me one. I took one puff and didn’t inhale and I thought “Gross, but whatever.” I took a second puff, inhaled, coughed for what felt like forever, almost threw up and decided that was the end of that.

18) What do you do to get over your anger?

Try to put things into perspective. If there’s something I could do about what I’m angry about, I try to do that. If there isn’t, I try to think about what the potential outcomes are of just letting it go. I don’t get too angry about much, and I am super conflict avoidant.  I don’t like holding onto a lot of negative energy. I try to vent a bit, put it all into some context, and then either figure out what to do to make things better or let go.

19) Do you believe in God?

I’d like to believe there’s some sort of higher power. I don’t think it’s a rules based system like most churches promote. I think being a good person is possible outside of the context of religion and being a terrible one is possible inside that context. I’d have to go with the fallback that I am “more spiritual than religious.” So sorta yes?

20) Does the person you’re in love with know it?

Geez, I hope so!
