Here’s What We’re Gonna Do

I have been remiss in writing.

This makes me sad because I truly like writing here (and everywhere.) And I love sharing what I write and hearing what you all think about it.  I miss you all.

But.  And this is a big one.  I have no idea what to talk about.

My well has run dry.

I can’t talk about how woe-is-me it is to be all alone and blah-blah-blah.  And I’m not even woe-y about it.  I’m cool.  I’m good.

I can’t talk about work.  Oh…how I wish I could.  But that would be dangerous, and I am not in a place where dangerous is part of my to-do list.  That will have to wait for later.

Yay!

So.  I want to write.  I don’t have anything to say.

And then I found THIS BOOK (at Anthropologie -the place where everything is better.) And angels sang…and I got an idea.

WHAT IF…I write stuff from in here??  AND…

WHAT IF YOU PICK WHICH ONES??

I am guessing we won’t get to ALL 642 of them…but let’s play around a bit with random writing.

Fun, right?

And kind of terrifying.

I warn you, I am NOT a fiction writer.  So what I come up with may very possibly suuuuucccckkkkk.  But it’s good for me (and everyone) to do stuff that I suck at, to stop sucking at it quite so much.  I am going to stop saying suck now.

Here are the ground rules:

1) I will not write about sex.  Won’t. Don’t try to talk me into it.

2) I will not write about anything that will upset my mother.  Or my children.  Or my grandfather.  Or…you get the idea.

3) I cannot write about my current workplace.  I can write about OTHER places and people, but not this one.

SO.

Pick a number between 1 and 642 and let’s get this party started!

NOTE: If you want to play along, I will tell you what the writing prompt is before I start writing (or get yourself a copy of the super fun book!) and if you post your piece on your own blog or other online forum, then when I post MINE you can put YOURS in the comments and I’ll add a link “shout-out” for it.  Cool?  I KNOW!!
